Rotterdam pop city 70 jaar Rotterdamse popgeschiedenis in beeld

With over 70 years of iconic acts, underground scenes and legendary concerts, Rotterdam has built a rich pop history. This is now brought to life in images and sound – in the exhibition Rotterdam Popstad in the Doelen Art.

In December, Popunie published the monumental book Rotterdam Popstad: a 550-page ode to the city's pop culture, filled with 360 unique photos, stories and memorabilia. The book was received with great acclaim, is almost sold out and forms the basis for this new exhibition.

From 1 May, the exhibition Rotterdam Popstad will open in the Doelen Art. Let yourself be carried away on a musical and visual journey along the highlights from the book and the Rotterdam pop scene. With characteristic images, music and special memorabilia, this exhibition brings the unique pop history of the city to life. The exhibition can be visited free of charge until Sunday 8 June and is open weekly from Thursday to Sunday. A must for every music lover!
