Pokey LaFarge is a musical eccentric who has turned his unique character into a lifestyle. A profound transformation occurred when LaFarge worked twelve hours a day on a local farm. This period of hard labor sparked a creative explosion and gave him a renewed sense of artistic calling. On his latest album, Rhumba Country, LaFarge demonstrates a deep commitment to music that radiates pure joy. "There was a time when I glorified sadness because I lost myself," he says, "but now I understand that creating and sharing joy is my true gift. Gifts are meant to be shared."
