The Paradox Jazz Orchestra brings special and timeless jazz compositions from the big band world to life. This time with the Belgian top trumpet player Bert Joris as special guest!
Jazzclub Paradox in Tilburg is a home for live jazz and the birthplace of the Paradox Jazz Orchestra, founded in 2020 by saxophonist/arranger Jasper Staps and trumpeter Teus Nobel. Their mission: to keep timeless big band compositions alive with a contemporary twist. This earned their debut album Remembering The Skymasters an Edison nomination and a performance at NN North Sea Jazz.
Belgium has produced jazz greats such as Francy Boland and Toots Thielemans – and Bert Joris belongs in that list. As a composer, arranger and trumpeter, he is a key figure in the Belgian jazz scene. His style: intimate, layered and timeless. His compositions are played worldwide, and he is mentioned in the same breath as top names such as Wynton Marsalis, Roy Hargrove and Randy Brecker.
