Baobab blend Mandinka, Wolof and Serer sounds with Latin rhythms, creating a timeless, elegant sound. From their golden age to their impressive comeback in the early 2000s led by Nick Gold (Buena Vista Social Club), Baobab continues to renew their legacy and enchant each generation with their hypnotic grooves.

After a seven-year wait, Orchestra Baobab is back with Made in Sénégal, a new album set for release in October 2025. More than just music, it’s a love letter to Senegal, its musical roots and its future. Baobab continues to balance tradition and modernity, with music that captures the rhythms of all of Senegal. From Casamance to Fouta, from Dakar to Saint-Louis, each song tells a new story from the country’s rich musical history. Baaba Maal, a living Fulani legend, adds his powerful voice to this musical tribute, while other special guests strengthen the bridge between generations.
