This paradox makes love almost impossible, but the operas grand and captivating! Meanwhile, on a collective level, our safety is under severe pressure and as individuals we often run exhausting laps in our hard-won freedom.

How much conditionality and expectation can our love life tolerate?

How many rules can our freedom handle?

Are we really that free or are we trapped in an obsession with self-optimization?

Can we still escape from ourselves? And reach the other?

What about our relationship with the rule of law?

And what kind of relationship are we actually talking about?

Is a polyamorous relationship with the rule of law also possible?

GRANITE is looking for the citizenship of the future.

Opera is the mother of total theatre, connecting all disciplines. But can it open its arms even wider and involve the audience in an immersive co-creation ritual in which their voice, experience and perception also have a place in the work?

In GRANITE, 15 singers examine themselves and their relationship with the rule of law. They work with a relationship therapist, a lawyer, a philosopher and an Ubuntu specialist.

In O.Lab they give a foretaste of the music, a composition for choir and organ, and they test a conversation ritual. Together with you, their audience.

O. Lab offers the audience a peak into the theater makers' rehearsal rooms. Something that is normally reserved for the select few… Artists will share their research questions. As the visitor, you are invited to watch and express your valuable opinions about prototypes and works in progress. O. Lab in WORM is one big creative space and you will be sitting in the front row as the processes unfold!
