About Oersoep
Oersoep is a bluegrass musical based on the book of the same name by Bregje Hofstede. Inspired by the tradition of requiems and passions. A journey into what it means to carry, give birth to and care for another (human) being. An exploration of humanity on the eve of the second Industrial Revolution and beyond. The quest to find the way through the pain of child birth, team sports, mystics and the desire for self-loss in what seems like a humbling era.
About Rebekka Nilsson
In addition to being a director, Rebekka Nilsson is also one of the most successful Norwegian bluegrass singers. Her band Hayde Bluegrass Orchestra from Norway was nominated for the Norwegian Grammy Awards with their first album and debuted at #4 on the Billboard Bluegrass Album Charts. With Oersoep, Rebekka Nilsson combines her love for bluegrass music and theater direction for the first time.
About Bregje Hofstede
Bregje Hofstede is a writer and activist. Her previous novel Drift was shortlisted for the Libris Literature Prize. She is co-founder of the feminist platform De Bovengrondse and the National Witch Monument Foundation, and a member of Extinction Rebellion. She writes about new prophets for De Correspondent.
