Nederlands Studenten Jazz Orkest: Van Eigen Bodem

From moving jazz pieces to cheerful sing-alongs and modern hits: this swinging ode to Dutch (jazz) music takes you on a journey from the roots of Dutch jazz to the innovators of pop. Don't miss it, this will be an evening that will make you dance!

Artistic director Bernard van Rossum is a Spanish-Dutch saxophonist who is praised for his arranging and composing skills. For example, he won the Rogier van Otterloo Award in 2022. He is also at the helm of the BvR Flamenco Big Band, with which he won the Meer Jazz International Big Band Competition, among other things.

This edition, the front position is occupied by the energetic vocal trio Velvet Vox (Frederieke, Judith and Katie). This trio has left their calling card in the music world several times as part of The Jimmy's; the house band of, among others, Vrienden van Amstel, The Streamers, and TV programs such as Humberto and The Headliner. In addition, they have also been the backing vocals of Maan at various pop venues and festivals.
