Natuurstad Expo

Young talents were challenged to creatively capture the connection between man and nature in a series of images. From the submitted portfolios, five students were selected, who visited various city farms and gardens of Natuurstad. Here they met not only flora and fauna, but also the visitors, employees and volunteers associated with Natuurstad.

The temporary exhibition along the escalators in the Maastunnel offers Natuurstad a unique opportunity to show how it works with and for all Rotterdammers every day, in all weather conditions. But the exhibition is also an opportunity to give the city something beautiful. Because education is interwoven with the DNA of Natuurstad, students from WdKA – the Rotterdam training institute for talented photographers, among others – were invited to submit work for this unique exhibition.

In his own style and with unique artistic visions, this has resulted in five fantastic photo series. A jury, represented by CBK Rotterdam, WdKA and Natuurstad, ultimately put together the exhibition consisting of 36 photos.

This photo exhibition – which focuses on Rotterdam's urban nature – was created in collaboration with the municipality of Rotterdam, CBK Rotterdam and the Willem de Kooning Academy (WdKA).

From November 2024 to February 2025, the Nature City Expo can be admired in the Maastunnel (cyclist and pedestrian entrances).
