Nationaal Jeugdorkest with new accordion-concert Mathilde Wantenaar

Every year the National Youth Orchestra goes on tour with a special soloist and a star conductor. This year the soloist is extra special: accordion virtuoso Vincent van Amsterdam, who plays the new Accordion Concerto by Mathilde Wantenaar.

The National Youth Orchestra is one of the few places where conservatory students can come together en masse to play at a very high level. During an NJO tour, there are as many as a hundred students on stage, who study programs in a pressure cooker under the direction of a great conductor and with a special soloist. This year it is the turn of Otto Tausk and Vincent van Amsterdam, who will play Mathilde Wantenaar's just-written Accordion Concerto with the NJO.
