Nagasaki Swim
For fans of: Alex G, Big Thief, Elliot Smith
Nagasaki Swim makes music that fills you with courage, whether you’re walking to the grocery store or merging onto the highway after a long time. Sometimes they’re a warm-hearted folk band, other times a euphoric, fearless rock formation. One thing’s for sure: their creativity knows no bounds. This indie folk band doesn’t shy away from giving instruments like strings and lap steel a prominent role alongside their usual line-up. Nagasaki Swim lets go of the reins—facing the world with their eyes wide open, ready to embrace whatever comes their way.
Firmly rooted in Rotterdam and with two albums under their belt, the band led by Jasper Boogaard is growing in many directions. Their sharp debut The Mirror (2021) and the rich follow-up Everything Grows (2023) have already taken the group on multiple tours through the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, with performances at festivals such as SXSW, Best Kept Secret and Motel Mozaïque. And now that the gray autumn weather is setting in, a new album is blossoming—and we can't wait for it to see the light of day!
