My Long Lost Boundaries Theater Rotterdam / ISK / Jasper Vaillant
What are boundaries anyway? How can you feel them and communicate them to others? And why is that sometimes so scary?
After six successful editions of the ISK project, Theater Rotterdam is once again working with students from International Transition Classes who have only just arrived in the Netherlands. This year they are making MY LONG LOST BOUNDARIES, a performance about boundaries and transgressive behavior.
In MY LONG LOST BOUNDARIES, ten ISK students explore their personal boundaries and the social structures within which these take shape. With their own experiences as a source of inspiration, the students create a visual performance that takes the audience along all the boundaries of man. They wonder when their boundaries have been respected and when they have been exceeded. And what does it actually mean to be limitless?
MY LONG LOST BOUNDARIES is the seventh performance in this series and part of the ISK project: an initiative by Theater Rotterdam to offer a stage to students from International Transition Classes who have only just arrived in the Netherlands. In addition to regular lessons, these students follow an intensive language program. When the program is completed after 2 years, they will transfer to regular secondary education.
