The energetic Moreish Idols turn mania into an art form. Their genre-bending post-punk is characterised by restless energy, with angular tremolo guitars merging with complex rhythmic structures and improvised saxophone lines. Often this culminates in a crescendo of refined noise, where everything comes together in a cacophony that pushes the band to their limits. The result is occasionally reminiscent of Pavement from the Watery, Domestic period, but the influence of the British countryside is clearly audible in their sound.
Their highly anticipated debut album All In The Game is set for release on March 7 via the renowned Speedy Wunderground. The album follows the release of their singles "Pale Blue Dot" and "Slouch"—the former marking the label's 50th 7” single—and has garnered rave reviews from the likes of NME, CLASH, DIY, Dork, Wonderland and BBC Radio 6 Music. The album's central themes revolve around existentialism, memory and illness, with All In The Game exploring how we might make sense of our limited time on earth.
