Miguel Zenón Quartet

Miguel Zenón is not only a masterful alto saxophonist, but also a pioneering voice in Latin jazz. His playing is powerful and virtuoso, with a rich tone and passionate improvisations. With his fiery sound he breathes new life into traditional Caribbean rhythms.

As a composer, Zenón delves deep into the musical heritage of his native Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rican community in New York. His album El Arte Del Bolero (2021) is an ode to the bolero, the romantic, swinging dance music of the 1950s. On Música de las Americas (2022), he explores the history, culture and influence of the indigenous peoples of North, Central and South America. The album pays tribute to the rich musical traditions of the American continent and how they have blended with African and European influences.
