Meindert Talma

Meindert Talma, the Netherlands' most unknown pop star, will be coming to Rotown on Saturday 22 March with his latest CD-book combo called 'Gezinsverbijstering'. This special album is an autobiographical work in which Talma brings songs that tell stories about his love experiences in Groningen, his first cohabitation adventure and the births of his two daughters in the countryside. A must for fans of De Kift, Spinvis and Lucky Fonz III.

Meindert Talma (1968), who lives in Noordhorn (a village above Groningen), grew up in the Frisian village of Surhuisterveen, where he received organ lessons for years from the church organist of the Reformed Church. After obtaining the Church Organ B diploma, Meindert moved to Groningen to study history.

Graduated in 1994, Meindert decided that the time was ripe for a new step that he had dreamed of for a long time: a career in pop music. In 1995, his debut single '20 jaar Muzikale Fruitmand' was released on Oetstar Rekkers. After this, with great dedication and with the help of various music companies, he released twenty albums from 1996 onwards, of which eighteen albums from 1999 onwards on Excelsior Recordings.
