Megastructure RIDCC Brings Back - Sarah Baltzinger & Isaiah Wilson

RIDCC not only offers a stage to new choreography talent, but also to former participants who have developed strongly in recent years. With RIDCC Brings Back, the festival welcomes makers with whom a special artistic bond has been created.

This year, the talented choreography duo Sarah Baltzinger & Isaiah Wilson returns to Rotterdam. During RIDCC 2023, they proved their exceptional talent by winning multiple Partner Awards and the prestigious XL Production Award worth 100,000 euros with MEGASTRUCTURE. Now they present their powerful and innovative movement language once again.

MEGASTRUCTURE curiously follows the path that two bodies travel in a continuous entanglement. In this intense exploration of intimacy, the dynamic dance material evokes both strange and dangerous associations. The duo moves like a living puzzle, whose pieces are constantly being dismantled, searched for, tested and reinvented.

This choreographic work takes place without sound composition and without decor. The natural musicality arises purely from the bodies on stage, which produce a fast, rhythmic energy, creating a unique auditory experience.

During RIDCC, talented choreographers from all over the world come to Rotterdam to show their duets to a new audience. In addition to the competition, RIDCC offers an in-depth program with workshops, masterclasses, network meetings and coaching sessions. This gives the choreographers not only the opportunity to present their work, but also to develop themselves further and gain access to the extensive RIDCC network.
