May Holiday - Japanese Children's Day

Celebrate Japanese Children's Day and discover special love and tradition rituals from different cultures. From making colorful koinobori to folding a senbazuru and embroidering a love handkerchief - a creative and meaningful experience for the whole family.

Experience a colourful and inspiring period full of traditions, stories and creativity. During Japanese Children's Day you can make your own koinobori , a symbolic carp windsock that expresses strength and perseverance. Help fold a senbazuru installation with 1000 origami cranes, a Japanese symbol for happiness and solidarity. In the Lovebird Atelier you can discover how birds represent love and loyalty worldwide and you can embroider a love handkerchief with patterns from different cultures. You can also make a stamp roll with traditional chicken and rooster symbolism, such as those used in Taiwan and China for weddings and births. A period full of family activities in which you can playfully become acquainted with age-old symbols and stories from all over the world.
