Mark Guiliana

Star drummer and composer Mark Guiliana is back in LantarenVenster! This time with a new adventure: a solo performance on the occasion of his first full solo album, entitled MARK (Edition Records) that was released in July 2024.

Mark Guiliana is an adventurous spirit from New Jersey. He has an eclectic palette and a gift for spontaneous invention in a dazzling range of styles. A virtuoso of acoustic jazz, cutting-edge electronic music, and next-level rock, he has collaborated with St. Vincent, Matt Cameron (Pearl Jam/Soundgarden), Brad Mehldau, M83, Meshell Ndegeocello, and the legendary David Bowie. Guiliana's career has gained momentum since his participation on David Bowie's swan song album Blackstar.

On MARK, Guiliana fully reveals himself as a composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist – with percussion, piano, synthesizers, which he plays himself and lays on top of each other. This new step brings together his experiences and sources of inspiration, and at the same time the start of a new direction. MARK follows his two highly praised Edition Records albums The Sound of Listening and Mischief.
