Maritiem Museum kleurt geel voor Tour de France Femmes

The Maritime Museum also turns yellow for the first international start of the Tour de France Femmes. A place where there is certainly a lot to celebrate this year because the museum is celebrating its 150th anniversary with the city in all kinds of ways and moments this summer.

Sunday, August 11: the Maritime Museum and the historic museum harbor are located on the route of the Rotterdam Cycling Festival. Are you coming to cheer on friends and family, or do you want to make a quick stop along the route? There is plenty to do at the Maritime Museum for young and old. From a tour on and past the museum ships at our jetty to deck mopping or a delicious ice cream at our Loeve ice cream parlor. Or step into the museum and discover the often invisible maritime world that is so important to Rotterdam.

Tuesday, August 13: in the museum harbor we are ready to receive all cycling fans and provide them with a fantastic day while the peloton flashes by in the morning at the end of the 2nd stage. In the afternoon, the quay of the Maritime Museum is a great place to watch the individual time trial. In the meantime, you can listen to the sounds of, among others, the eco-feminist punk band Herr Hamsterfleisch from Club Gewalt. They come from the floating stage in the museum harbour.

The quay of the Maritime Museum is literally and figuratively also the stage of Circus City. Just like with the tour, the women are in the spotlight here, and just like with the tour, wheels are involved, but as is the way in the circus, everything is slightly different here: come and enjoy Fenja Barteldres and Duo Kaos. With two companies: Duo Kaos with the act Time to Loop , an act with partner acrobatics on a bicycle and Fenja with the act Cyrrealism , an act with a large Cyr wheel in which she shows extraordinary and imaginative tricks.
