Mama Aisa

“When everyone goes to sleep and the lights in the city go to night mode, something inside me starts talking. Something? No. Someone. She tells ghost stories about the children who disappeared in black water. She tells about how we all might have let go of something of ourselves there.”

This essay paints a portrait of a grown woman who, for the first time since her youth, sees the girl she once was.

Her inner child demands attention, sometimes screams for it, but is so often ignored in the adult world. How many women have forced that girl inside of them to grow up at a young age?

The inner child can be a source of joy, energy, open-mindedness and forces us to look at the world with curiosity. Due to the pressure of society, we often forget to pay attention to it.

Mama Aisa is an investigative text by a woman who tries to find her former younger self in order to - perhaps for the first time in her life - really listen to her
