About the Artists
Under The Surface is an exceptional Dutch trio consisting of drummer Joost Lijbaart, guitarist Bram Stadhouders, and singer Sanne Rambags. The trio, known for their groundbreaking improvisations, was founded in 2015 through the Dutch foundation Beaux Jazz, which supports young artistic talent. Rambags, winner of the Conservatory Talent Award 2017, joined forces with Stadhouders and Lijbaart within the foundation's Generation Next initiative.
Sigá y Silente (meaning “in a soft and quiet way”) is a unique collaboration between Andalusian percussionist Lucas Zegrí and Greek pianist Yiorgos Bereris. The duo met in 2021, overcoming language barriers to develop a shared musical language. Their music combines percussion instruments from Latin American, Balkan, and Middle Eastern traditions—such as batá, pandeiro, cajón, and bendir—with a piano style that fuses jazz and Eastern Mediterranean influences.
