Due to the taboo and limited representation surrounding paid intimacy, there is little room for the diverse perspectives of the people who are part of the world of sex work themselves. A world that – they know – cannot be captured in a single image.

Based on the experiences of sex workers and their clients, the performance LOVE ME BY THE HOUR unfolds a much broader picture of sex work. Beyond the cliché of the red light, we focus the spotlight on those for whom intimacy – for whatever reason – is a matter of supply and demand. With red ears, but without a blush on the cheeks, this musical movement performance is an ode to the many forms of paid intimacy.
