Longing

Hollywood icons Richard Gere and Diane Kruger in a tragicomedy that is both touching and recognizable. A story about parenthood, the desire to be a parent and the feelings that come with it.

The life of 60-year-old Daniel (Richard Gere) is turned upside down when the childless man hears that he not only had an 18-year-old son, but that the boy died in an accident a week ago. Suddenly he finds himself standing at the grave of the son he never knew. In order to form an image of who the boy was, he starts looking up people from his son's life... friends, teachers, loves. In this way, Daniel experiences fatherhood for the first time in his life. He begins to identify with the boy; proud of his abilities, saddened by his shortcomings, angry about the injustice done to him. In this way, the man is also forced to evaluate his own life choices.
