LantarenVenster presents four documentaries about heroes in Rotterdam in collaboration with IKBENWIJ. Lieve Jongen is the first of these four documentaries, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the foundation.
In the documentary Lieve Jongen, made by Darryl Osenga, we see a new side of Lorenzo. Darryl followed him during his preparation for a personal battle and captured how he physically and mentally prepared himself for the challenge. We get a glimpse into the vulnerability behind his drive and the insecurity that often remains hidden behind his smile. Is the fight only about winning a kickboxing match, or is it about something deeper? This documentary takes you on an emotional journey full of confrontation, discipline and inner motivation to become the best version of yourself.
Dear Boy is not only a story about training for a ring fight, but also a symbolic journey of personal transformation that anyone seeking growth and change can relate to. The biggest opponent is always the person in the mirror. The more you challenge yourself, the better prepared you are for what lies ahead.
