L'histoire de Souleymane

The film follows Souleymane, who ends up in Paris after a dangerous journey from Guinea and tries to secure his future as an illegal meal deliverer, while preparing for a crucial conversation with the immigration service.
About the movie
After a dangerous journey, Souleymane has finally arrived in Paris from Guinea. He manages to earn some money as a meal deliverer, but is 'sans papiers' and is currently living illegally in France. As he hurries through the busy streets of Paris on his bike, Souleymane prepares for the important conversation he has to have with the immigration service. He has rehearsed a good story for this decisive moment. Only it is not his own story…
ROS Foundation
An estimated 5,000 to 8,000 undocumented people live in Rotterdam, without valid residence papers. They cannot work, register with the municipality, take out insurance or open a bank account, but still have to survive. Some consciously choose this stay, others are victims of failed immigration policy and are in limbo, sometimes for years. The Rotterdam Undocumented Support Center (ROS) has been supporting these people for 20 years with emergency shelter, legal and social guidance, language lessons, and tries to improve their position locally and nationally.
