RIGHTABOUTNOW INC. and the Dutch National Opera present a dynamic hip-hop opera based on the exciting children's book Lennox and the Golden Sickle. The story is about the young Lennox, who goes on a journey of discovery to help his father, and in doing so learns not only his own courage, but also the power of friendship.

Lennox knows that his father suffers from a mysterious illness, but he is not told exactly what is going on. When his father forgets to bring his lucky necklace to a hospital appointment one day, Lennox decides to go after him with his best friend. During their adventurous journey, they face exciting challenges, and Lennox discovers that courage does not mean never being afraid, but rather persevering despite your fear.

The performance is based on the award-winning children's book Lennox and the Golden Sickle, which received the Silver Griffel in 2022 for the story by Zindzi Zevenbergen, and the Silver Brush for the illustrations by Hedy Tjin and Brian Elstak. Their colorful and lively illustrations are an important visual inspiration for this performance.

Multi-instrumentalist and producer Bnnyhunna composes his first opera for Lennox, collaborating with composer Neo Muyuanga. The music moves between jazz, gospel, afro and hip hop, resulting in a unique musical experience.
