Meet La Reunión, a salsa collective rooted in Rotterdam and founded and led by talented viola player Daniela Rivera. This ensemble consists of five musicians from different corners of the world, each bringing their own musical flavor to the mix. United by their love for Afro-Cuban rhythms, they found their musical home in Rotterdam’s vibrant music scene.
What makes La Reunión unique is their innovative approach to salsa. Imagine a classic salsa band, but with a twist: instead of traditional wind instruments, they play with viola and flute. Through their original music and arrangements, these instruments blend seamlessly with the rhythm section, giving La Reunión its signature swing.
La Reunión has performed at major venues and festivals in Rotterdam and the Netherlands, such as Lab Grounds, Eendrachtsfestival and the North Sea Jazz Festival.
