This 'last great nouvelle vague film' premiered at Cannes and won the Grand Jury Prize and the International Film Critics' Prize.
Alexandre, played by Jean-Pierre Léaud, one of the great actors of the nouvelle vague, is a bohemian who mourns the break with his beloved Gilberte (Isabelle Weingarten). In the meantime, he starts relationships with the slightly older Marie (Bernadette Lafont) and the slightly younger Veronika (Françoise Lebrun).
