During Alternate Takes, local heroes and superstars-to-be are given carte blanche for an evening at BIRD. The rules are simple: there are no rules. Okay… one: the host invites a guest artist.
Kay mixes sounds of the Motherland & the Afrodiaspora. He is rooted in Ghana but based in Rotterdam. From poetic storytelling and dynamic flows to playing the balafon and saxophone. From North Sea Jazz to Noorderslag and from Accra to Jakarta: He's always ready to get your venue grooving.
