Kim Richey

American singer-songwriter Kim Richey sings with a beautiful voice in a style that is somewhere between country, folk, pop, rock and Americana. Her debut album Kim Richey (1995), established her as a powerful voice in the alternative country scene. Her music combines introspective lyrics with accessible melodies and has a melancholic but also hopeful undertone. She is known for her warm, soft voice and the ability to tell stories that feel personal and universal at the same time.

Her new album Every New Beginning will be released in early 2024 on Yep Records. The atmospheric, self-written songs are drenched in melancholy about everything that is gone forever. 'Chapel Avenue' is about her childhood in a small town in Ohio, 'Goodbye Ohio' about the sadness of lost romance and 'A Way Around' about long nights with full ashtrays. Although Kim has found success as a solo artist, she has also received much praise as a songwriter for others, including artists such as Trisha Yearwood and Brooks & Dunn.

In 2023, Kim Richey opened for Gretchen Peters in LantarenVenster, now she is playing her own solo concert with us.
