Kidscollege: Kunstmatige Intelligentie is niet eng 11+
Bas Haring explains in plain language what artificial intelligence (AI) is, during AI Month.
Can we already offer children AI workshops when we as adults often cannot even foresee the consequences? Good question! Let us at least start by explaining to children what artificial intelligence actually is. Bas Haring (known from Proefkonijnen) wrote the book 'Kunstmatige digitale is niet eng' (Artificial intelligence is not scary) and gives a lecture about this where both children (11+) and adults are welcome.
Because what is artificial intelligence anyway? Will algorithms determine our lives in the future? How would it feel if in a while there were devices that were smarter than people? And are those machines really smart or fake smart? Artificial intelligence, or 'computer smartness', makes our lives a lot easier. But it is also a bit exciting, because what awaits us all? In understandable language, Bas explains exactly what artificial intelligence is. He makes you think about the possibilities and threats of computers that are increasingly capable of more.
