Kelly Lee Owens

When Kelly Lee Owens was in high school, she won two awards: Music Lover of the Year and Dreamer of the Year—an early indication of things to come. For lack of a better term, we call her music “dream techno.” Her sound teeters between ethereal, avant-garde pop and pulsating club anthems, with pop melodies floating over techno beats to tell stories of heartbreak and personal growth. Despite her initial interest in indie and pop, everything fell into place when she started making techno. Yet these influences are still evident in her work, and the way she uses analog gear to create her unique electronic sound is visceral and emotionally charged.

Owens has been DJing all over the world, recently performing at Glastonbury, supporting shows for The Chemical Brothers and Bicep, and most recently a set at Charli XCX's PARTYGIRL in Ibiza. The first two singles from her upcoming album are hugely promising and will no doubt be euphoric highlights of her live set at Annabel.
