Multi-instrumentalist Julius Rodriguez is 'a rising star' in the neo-jazz scene. Whether he's starring with A$AP Rocky, Meshell Ndegeocello or the hugely successful anime soundtrack 'Blue Giant', the 25-year-old is destined to shine!

“IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK OF WHEN YOU HEAR THE WORD 'JAZZ',” SAYS JULIUS RODRIGUEZ, WHEN ASKED ABOUT THE TITLE OF HIS NEW SECOND ALBUM, “EVERGREEN.”

Born and raised in New York City, Rodriguez has created a new sound from a confluence of factors: skills as a producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist – especially piano and drums. Influences range from John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk to Burna Boy and Pink Pantheress. His imagination, talent for improvisation and determination to break boundaries is what he simply calls 'the music'.

With 'Evergreen' he returns for his second album with Verve Records. He presents new and original songs and a cover of 'Many Times' by R&B artist Dijon. His album features contributions from Keyon Harrol, Nate Mercereau and Georgia Anne Muldrow.
