Josephine B. Een leven in revue
Josephine B. tells the story of the world's most famous revue star: Josephine Baker. Who doesn't know the dance in the spicy banana skirt, the big breakthrough in Paris for the originally American. After that, things move quickly. Very quickly. In the early 1920s, Josephine makes her debut on Broadway and thus becomes the first black 'superstar'.
She not only wraps the audience around her finger, but also a whole series of men. As a spy, she joins the French resistance. She also uses her name and fame in the fight against racial discrimination. Josephine Baker turns out to be more, so much more than a singer dressed in feathers.
You don't give a revue star her own musical. You give a revue star her own revue. A dazzling, humorous, moving, surprising, whirling revue about her turbulent life. With beautiful songs, including some evergreens.
Starring Channah Hewitt (TINA - The Tina Turner Musical & Les Misérables) as Josephine, surrounded by eight handsome, dancing, singing and playing men and a five-piece live orchestra.
