JEAN-MARC SPAANS - BARBARA HELMER - MARIANNE ROODENBURG

In this new exhibition, three artists explore the domain of space through their research into form, colour and light. Jean-Marc Spaans's photographic works are like paintings of light. Hand-drawn movements, with a colourful light source, he captures in darkened spaces with his analogue camera. Barbara Helmer captures the reflection of light, the sparkles and reflections on wooden panels in the form of gemstones, quartz and minerals. Barbara emphatically does not tell a story, but creates images in which the exploration of fractions forms a larger whole. Marianne Roodenburg searches for a landscape balance in the dynamics of applying paint that makes the viewer aware of the moment. Her use of colours gives sensitivity and personal imagination to these painted constructions. The three artists make the viewer think about the experience of space, which goes beyond the determination by metres and coordinates. But through a play of materiality and imagination of light, give meaning to space.
