Jaszak | Simone de Jong Company 2+

Jaszak is a funny, heartwarming performance about a homeless person in a changing world. Or does he change himself?

There is a man

In a coat

He is cold

He makes himself small

He wants to be something...

He is a mountain

And now a crab!

And yet a snail

He can do everything

In his pocket

Jaszak is a funny, heartwarming performance about a person without a roof in a changing world. Or is he changing himself? Inspired by the organization Sheltersuit, Simone de Jong Company creates a performance as a musical trip for children from 2 to 6 years old. A sequel to the performance Kluizelaar.

About

Simone de Jong Company makes visual, catchy, physical theatre for a very young target group, such as the internationally successful performance Kluizelaar ('Hermit').

The performances of Simone de Jong Company are characterized by their imagination, humor and inventiveness. We work almost without text: images, sound and movement are the means to touch, challenge and inspire children. Because in your fantasy you can live…

In the period 2025–2028, Simone de Jong Company will receive structural support from the Performing Arts Fund. Inspired by the Sheltersuit, the suit for people without a roof by the organization of the same name, she is now creating the performance Jaszak. Simone de Jong herself comes from modern mime and musical theater and is also a children's book writer. She wrote Het geheim van meneer Hartjes (Clavis, 2016) and Op zoek naar het groene goud (Clavis, 2021).

Visiting the performance is only possible under supervision.
