Jan van Duikeren & Marcel Veenendaal

Trumpeter Jan van Duikeren and singer Marcel Veenendaal show a new side of their musical versatility with the release of their single 'Come Wander With Me'. This mysterious song - originally from The Twilight Zone - has a personal meaning for Veenendaal, who often hummed it as a lullaby to his children. Veenendaal: "We recorded an album with songs that have a special place in our hearts." This intimate touch is beautifully reflected in the new performance, and immediately gives an impression of what the upcoming album A Love Unveiled has to offer.

What started as a musical experiment during the recording of Short Stories grew into this full-fledged album, in which Van Duikeren and Veenendaal work with the crème de la crème of Dutch jazz music: drummer John Engels, pianist Karel Boehlee and double bassist Aram Kersbergen. A Love Unveiled, which will be released on November 22, 2024, brings well-known pieces with a personal twist and contains one original song, 'Mi Amor', an ode to vulnerable love.

Jan van Duikeren is a familiar face in the Dutch music world with his work for the Metropole Orchestra and as a live trumpeter with DI-RECT. Marcel Veenendaal, known as the frontman of DI-RECT, brings his distinctive voice and depth to this jazz project. Together with jazz veterans Engels, Boehlee and Kersbergen, this quintet creates a musical adventure full of character and emotion.
