Jan Jaap van der Wal
From the cathedral of Antwerp you can see the Netherlands in clear weather. In 2015 Jan Jaap van der Wal lost his heart to another country: Belgium. The now recognized foreigner lives in Flanders and makes shows in the theater and on TV there.
But you can't deny your roots, so Jan Jaap returns to the Dutch theatres this season. With an 'outsider's' perspective, you see different things. What can the 'Ollanders' learn from the Flemish and vice versa? Because the Dutch directness and clarity are sometimes missed.
In Flemish you would say: Yes, well, it would be nice if you maybe, but just see, come and see the show maybe. In Dutch: Jan Jaap is back and you have to be there.
