British singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jacob Banks returns to the Maassilo! He makes haunting soulful music with John Mayer, Bob Marley and Kanye West as great sources of inspiration.

Nigerian-born, London-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jacob Banks first introduced his expressive blend of soul, R&B, folk and hip-hop with a series of self-released EPs. Shortly after signing to powerhouse Interscope Records, he made his full-length debut with Village in 2018 to global critical acclaim. Since then, he’s followed up with the EP For My Friends, which showcases a raw sound and songs written in the wake of the unrest of the Black Lives Matter protests.
Banks is appreciated by critics and fans. His distinctive sound led to collaborations with artists such as NAS, ASAP Rocky and Adekunle Gold. Worldwide hits such as “Unknown (To You)” and “Chainsmoking” established his name and ensured a growing international audience. In the Maassilo, Jacob Banks will not only perform songs from his impressive back catalogue, but also songs from his latest EP Yonder: Book I.
