Bristol-based band Jabu invite you to be part of their dreams. Their intoxicating blend of vintage dream pop—think Cocteau Twins, slow-motion Björk, or downbeat soundsystem dub in the style of AR Kane—is a hypnotic and endlessly fascinating listen. Their sound is wavy, melancholic, and dreamy in the extreme, but never dark, heavy, or oppressive.
In October 2024, they released their latest album A Soft and Gatherable Star, to rave five-star reviews from The Wire, The Quietus, Clash Magazine and other renowned media. With six albums under their belt, Jabu continue to evolve unabated. Now they’re ready to conquer Europe—and take our city under their spell.
Whether through a haunting drone, an orchestral piano part or an electronically amplified raga on the verge of breaking into noise—BHAJAN BHOY effortlessly fuses his musical influences into an intoxicating fusion with an earthy spirituality. Even the project’s name embodies the harmony between the two worlds Ajay Saggar grew up in: in Hindi, bhajan means a devotional song sung in the mandir (temple), while bhoy is a Scottish and Irish term for a young man.
