What goes through your mind when you struggle with an eating disorder? With puppets and actors, Theater Popidou tells the story of the young girl Hannah who is dealing with this. Her stomach is the Ministry of Internal Affairs where a strict figure is in charge and calories are anxiously monitored. As Hannah becomes increasingly entangled in her eating disorder, she begins to realize that this obsession has taken away her complete freedom. Confronted with her hopeless struggle, she decides to let go of control and slowly start eating again.

With 'The Ministry of Internal Affairs', theatre Popidou brings a compelling story about self-acceptance in young people. What it takes to break away from stubborn patterns so that you can get your life back. It shows that recovery is possible, even in the most difficult moments.

The performance is about anorexia, is intense but also light, with here and there even humor and above all hope. The story is told through the eyes of a doll named Hannah. She makes a journey from victim (who thinks she has control over food) to a decisive autonomous person who dares to embrace life again. In this way she can be an inspiring example for her fellow sufferers.
