Every year we commemorate all civilians and military personnel who have been killed or murdered in the Kingdom of the Netherlands or anywhere else in the world since the outbreak of the Second World War, in war situations and during peace operations.
Every year we come together to commemorate all civilians and military personnel who have died or been murdered since the beginning of the Second World War, both within the Kingdom of the Netherlands and worldwide. This commemoration reflects on the enormous sacrifices made in war situations and peace operations. It is a moment to honor the fallen and to emphasize the value of freedom and peace. The ceremony calls on us to reflect on the impact of war and the importance of commemoration for the future.
