Heerenhuyskamerconcert - Platner Trio

The Platner Trio is a regularly returning string trio in our concert series, and with good reason. In this concert, the passionate musicians combine the serenade for string trio by Ludwig van Beethoven with the serenade by Ernst von Dohnányi.

A serenade is a multi-part instrumental piece of music in a light and accessible style. Both serenades are among the highlights of the string trio repertoire. Dohnányi's Serenade from 1904 still has clear roots in the Romantic period and is easy on the ear. Beethoven's Serenade is rooted in the classical tradition and has an energetic and cheerful character.

Violinist Eefje Habraken, violist Anne Huser and cellist Daniel Petrovitsch play in the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. After playing together in various chamber music ensembles, they decided to found the Platner trio in 2022, named after the Italian builder of Daniel's cello, Michele Platner.

Playing chamber music, in addition to their love for the symphonic repertoire, is an even more direct way to communicate with each other and the audience.
