Oriol Marès & Talal Fayad present the album Estuarium with their quartet: a compelling mix of Arabic, Latin and jazz influences, in which cultural traditions merge into a unique musical sound.
The crossover quartet of Oriol Marès (clarinet, Barcelona) and Talal Fayad (oud, Syria) brings a surprising musical encounter in which Arabic, Latin and jazz traditions come together in an organic way. With their album Estuarium , the musicians – together with Thodoris Ziarkas (double bass, Greece) and Lucas Zegrí (drums/percussion, Spain) – search for common ground, with the Mediterranean Sea as a cultural crossroads. In nine original compositions they celebrate diversity and improvisation, and create a warm, layered sound in which each musician retains his own identity and yet fully integrates into the whole. A concert full of interaction, dynamics and musical connection.
