AYÊ, winner of the Erasmus Jazz Prize 2025, brings a dynamic mix of Brazilian, Portuguese and Latin music styles with an idiosyncratic and energetic sound.
The Rotterdam ensemble AYÊ emerged from a shared passion for Brazilian music and developed into a unique band with influences from jazz, classical music and bossa nova. Their special line-up, with vocals, oboe, double bass, piano and percussion, gives their compositions a characteristic and warm sound. The jury of the Erasmus Jazz Prize praised their colorful and personal performance, which immediately touched the audience. AYÊ invites listeners to be carried away on a musical journey full of passion, rhythm and surprising sound combinations.
