Indestructibly optimistic or naive-impulsive? “He always thought he would be in at 52, but that clearly didn't work out,” says the ironic voice-over. He was always a dreamer, full of ideas and projects that were supposed to bring him luck or fortune, but something always went wrong. Insecure but stubborn, Kappers, alias the Glass Turner, is now finding his way as a street and stage musician. He gets the autograph of idol Arvo Pärt, practices his fingers on those heavenly sounding glasses, and between Dubai, Podium Witteman and desperately working on his holiday home, he sees how this project can turn out as unexpectedly as life itself. Or is he actually looking for love? A glorious coming of old age drama, in which his father provides down-to-earth commentary and creative ambition arises from the feeling that time is running out and everything must change.
