From the so-called Anschluss (annexation) of Austria in March 1938, Joseph Goebbels' powerful propaganda machine does its work. The policy of the National Socialists finds support at an unprecedented level. When it becomes clear that Hitler is determined to embroil Europe in a barbaric war, Goebbels is forced to change his strategy - until then focused on security. He does not want to fall out of favor with the dictator he idolizes and focuses on radicalizing his supporters and misleading the German people with, among other things, anti-Semitic films such as 'The Eternal Jew'. Until the downfall of Nazi Germany in May 1945, Goebbels continues to fight desperately for the image of fascism.
