Fresh - lunar new year
The word 'onni' means 'big sister' in Korean. Since 2023, ONNI has created a safe space for women to explore and celebrate their Asian roots. These cultural events connect and focus on empowerment, networking and representation.
In 2025, it will be fifty years since the first Women's Year was proclaimed. A moment that is used in Rotterdam to reflect on the value and role of women, both in the past and in the future. Within this context, ONNI is committed to strengthening the perspective of Asian women, which often remains underexposed.
Lunar New Year not only marks a new beginning, but also the Year of the Snake, symbolizing renewal. What change do we want to create together? During this FRESH evening, five Asian women will share their stories, dreams and perspectives. Expect a rich program with spoken word, a shared cooking experience, movement and an inspiring panel discussion. A celebration of being a woman, a look into the future and an ode to the power of representation.
