It seems as if our bodies have never been given such a prominent place in the way we view ourselves and others.
It seems like our bodies have never been so prominent in the way we look at ourselves and others. In the lives of young people growing up, this leads to vulnerability, and sometimes to downright violent behavior: racism, fat shaming, sexism, bullying. The result of a look that reduces people to a physical characteristic.
FRAMED wants to free that gaze. Eight performers share vulnerable details about the history of their bodies. They show how external features only tell a fraction of who someone really is. Their words and movements show a search for self-acceptance and pride. All this to the live music of an exclusive musician duo: Hantrax creates a swelling club vibe in which the group comes together, Nabou Claerhout's trombone leads to the emotional inner world of the performers.
