Fillers en Botox - Lunchlezing Cosmetische Ingrepen

  • Lecture/Debate
  • Free

Fillers and botox. These types of cosmetic treatments seem to be becoming increasingly popular among a younger target group. Why is that? And how do such interventions actually work? Do we know enough about the possible complications before we let ourselves be cut and injected?

During the lunch lecture Fillers and Botox, Petra Dikrama will discuss the reality of cosmetic dermatology. As a cosmetic dermatologist with her own injectables clinic, she will take us through the process from intake to intervention. She will explain what is possible, how this relates to other (cosmetic) interventions, and what the current trends are in the field of treatments. Does everyone want Taylor Swift's smooth skin and Kim Kardashian's buttocks? And why do people actually go abroad for some interventions? Is that safe? Feel free to ask!

Drs. Petra Dikrama is a dermatologist, micrographic surgeon and university lecturer at the Erasmus Medical Center. She is also director and (cosmetic) dermatologist at the Dikrama Clinics in Utrecht, which she founded in 2020.

In the lunch lecture series De Maakbare Mens we look at the human urge to constantly want to improve themselves and to what extent medical interventions can play a role in this. What is possible, now and in the future? Why do people want to optimize themselves so much? And what can the consequences of this be? On Wednesday 12 March, Dr. Sam Riedijk will be our guest about the possibilities of tweaking DNA and on Wednesday 26 March, Dr. Diederik Smit will talk about (healthy) use of anabolics.

This lunch lecture series is organised by Studium Generale, the Academy Committee of the MFVR and Dr. Jos van der Geest.
