Fijt & Fictie

Jan van Houwelingen searches for the hero within himself with great self-mockery, while Boban Benjamin Braspenning delves into the feverish world of making money and super wealth with musical cabaret.

From delicate to crazy, the genuine Dutch art of living can be found here. Experience an unforgettable evening at Fijt & Fictie with the big names of tomorrow!

Fijt & Fictie proudly presents two more artists in the charming chapel hall of the old Monastery in Rotterdam-Noord. We will briefly introduce them to you.

Jan van Houwelingen (winner of the Albert Heijn Colouring Contest 2003) has been on stage for a number of years now with sharp anecdotes, embarrassing puns and lame observations. In his show Op Sokken , Jan, anecdotally and full of self-mockery, walks along the pedestals of his idols in search of the hero within himself. He performs throughout the country, as long as the trains are running.

Boban Benjamin Braspenning thought he had tried everything to avoid becoming a comedian, but a viral song about student debt, a nomination for Neerlands Hoop and prizes from the Groningen Student Cabaret Festival made escape impossible. With no way back, Boban can now be seen in the theaters with his musical cabaret program BRUTO about super wealth, tax specialists and financial influencers, which will most likely make him bankrupt. Because in a world where economic inequality is getting out of hand, promises of financial independence are flying off the digital counter like hot cakes and big money is becoming even bigger, Boban is obliged by his position to go to war as a poor artist. Whatever the cost. Out of need for money. Because no office wants him anymore.
